DARREN Ambrose today admitted he hit the lowest point of his career when Blues crashed to Barnsley.

In a frank and honest interview, the midfielder said there was no passion, desire or commitment during the awful 5-0 loss at St Andrew’s.

But Ambrose insisted he and Blues would show their true capabilities.

Ambrose came on in the game after 25 minutes for the injured David Murphy.

Jonathan Spector went to left-back and he slotted alongside Keith Fahey in the centre of the park.

“It was massively disappointing,” said Ambrose, who was dispossessed on the edge of the penalty area, which led to Barnsley’s second goal three minutes after the opener.

“If I talk personally, it was the worst performance of my career, to be honest, and the team weren’t much better either.

“It was one of those games where whatever could go wrong did go wrong, especially for me.

“We are all hurt, we are all angry, like everyone else, and we can all understand how the fans felt.

“The good thing about football is that games come thick and fast.

“We can’t dwell on it too long. We have a massive game at Brighton tomorrow to rectify our mistakes.

“Whatever eleven is selected, hopefully we can go out and show a bit more passion, desire, commitment because none of that was there at the weekend from myself or from the team. It was massively frustrating.”

Blues go to Brighton & Hove Albion this evening (5.30pm kick-off).

Manager Lee Clark, who has done most of the talking since the calamitous Tykes match, has vowed that a repeat will not happen again. #bcfc
