Blues U18s held table-toppers Leeds United to a 0-0 draw at Wast Hills.

It was the second straight game that the Blues youngsters had kept a clean sheet.

Academy coach Steve Spooner felt that a draw was a fair reflection on the match, although he admitted the Yorkshire side probably edged it on scoring chances.

“It was a very pleasing defensive performance and a clean sheet is always a good starting point,” said Spooner.

“In the first half for all the possession we had we weren’t incisive enough in the final third and our tempo could have been a bit higher.

“We got to 20 or 25 yards from goal, having played some good football, but then we didn’t exploit them enough

“Having said that I thought we did particularly well along the mid-third of the pitch and the back four generally looked tight.

“Over the game Leeds had more opportunities than we did but I think a draw was a fair result.” #bcfc
