CONSORTIUM chief Gianni Paladini says Blues would be run by football people, for football people, if he took charge of the club.

And there could even be a role for Ron Atkinson at St Andrew’s, were his consortium to succeed in buying Blues from Carson Yeung.

The Solihull-based businessman is a long-time friend of former Villa boss Big Ron.

Paladini’s offer of around £12 million – but supposedly worth up to £25 million (he remains vague about the exact details) – to Blues’ Hong Kong chiefs has been rebuffed.

He insists his group, comprising of Italian entrepreneurs, are serious about replacing Yeung.

And today he outlined more ideas he had about the way ahead for a brighter future for Blues.

“You need people with experience of business, of course, but also experience of running a football club,” says the former QPR chairman. “You have to know football.

“If we took over, I would probably ask someone like Ron Atkinson to help me.
