Hughton Speaking!! P -17 and Counting   1 comment

(P = Promotion, Play-offs or Perpetual championship depending on the depths of your Partisan beliefs)

Chris Hughton’s Army are heading to Barnsley to visit the Oakwell Stadium to play in what is their 42nd game of the season.

Although the form guide for the last 6 matches would appear to point to only one possible result this could be a ‘banana skin’ waiting to happen and as all bluenoses Know only too well, in the past,if there is a ‘banana skin’ Blues have an unerring abilty to step on it.

What the form guides also show is the 6 previous home matches Barnsley have taken 9 points whereas Blues have taken 7 points
from their previous 6 away matches.

All that being said, form always goes out the window and stats always seem to be in the eye of the beholder and if you are a
Bluenose that believed the Gypsy curse and have a superstitious ilk, this will be the 13th game of our undefeated run.

We at the forum (http://www.birminghamcityforum.co.uk) have the partisan belief that this should be another 3 points added to Chris Hughton’s admirable and somewhat unbelievable total and fully believe a further 3 goals added to our ever increasing goal average.

We also feel that with Southampton playing ‘on fire’ Burnley and Cardiff testing their ability against an unpredictable Leciester this fixture could be our chance to assert our foothold in the top 6 and could also see Chris Hughton’s Blues glide into a nosebleed generating 2nd position.

PREDICTION
Over the last 492 minutes of football Blues have scored 20 goals and only conceded 1

Barnsley 0 – BLUES 3

  1. Shame the Game was called off due to a frozen pitch

“The Championship game between Barnsley and Birmingham has been postponed because of a frozen pitch at Oakwell.
The decision was taken following an inspection just over two hours before kick-off.
No date has yet been confirmed for the rearranged fixture.”
