Due to the weather on Saturday we are still at P – 17 and counting, the Barnsley pitch was declared too frozen to play after a 12.30 inspection. They could have left it a bit longer just to make sure we had all set out on our travels (sarcasm), even more annnoying is the fact that the undersoil heating had been broken (tweeted by Tom Ross) from Tuesday. Still, better to cancel than play on an ice rink, dominate the game and finish with 1 point from what probably would have been 3.
My head says that this fixture has draw written all over it. Hull are travelling down on the back of a convincing 3-0 win against Bristol (bet you wished you stayed with us Chrissy Wood) City. They have taken a total of 10 points from their last 6 matches, Blues, as we probably all know, have taken 16 points from our last potential 18. Hull on their travels have taken 9 from 18 whereas Blues at home have taken 14 from 18.
We are still sitting 3rd in the table albeit now 5 points behind Southampton but still with a game in hand.
If ever there was a game that could give us a great psychological lift (not that we need it) its this one. If we win we go 4 points clear of Hull (currently 5th). With Southampton v West Ham also taking place on Tuesday night we stand a chance to gain 2 or 3 points on one or both of the top two, depending on result.
Once again my partisan beliefs say that Hull will not score in our back yard, with Curtis (player of the month) Davies on night watch, I just can’t see it happening.
I can also see Curtis (I’ll score when I want) Davies nicking the winner from a set piece.
Over the last 492 minutes of football Blues have scored 20 goals and only conceded 1 (left over from the last post but I like reading it)
PREDICTION (done with the heart and wearing blue-tinted glasses)
